Funding for specialist further education placements is usually considered through the Education, Health and Care Plan process. We work with families and local authorities to ensure placement discussions are clear, transparent and focused on the learner’s needs and outcomes.
Section: EHCP-Funded Placements
Many learners who attend specialist post-16 or post-19 provision have an EHCP. The local authority considers whether the provision is suitable and whether it can meet the young person’s special educational needs.
For young people aged 19–25, EHCP outcomes should focus on aspirations and preparation for adulthood.
