Independence Living Skills

Building confidence for adult life

At Brighter Futures Specialist College, independent living skills are an essential part of every learner’s journey. Through hands-on activities and real-life experiences, we help young people develop the practical skills, daily routines and confidence they need to live as independently as possible — at home, in their communities and beyond.

Our Independent Living Environment

Realistic environments designed to build confidence

Learners practise skills in realistic environments that help prepare them for adult life. Activities may include:

  • Cooking and meal preparation
  • Personal care routines
  • Organisation and housekeeping

This helps learners understand how skills can transfer into everyday adult life.
